Happy New Year!
Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? I am not one that does, however I do find it that it seems like a good time to take stock of things. The new year feels like a fresh, blank, slightly textured page.(Yeah, I do love paper) Granted, we can make changes in life anytime but upon the new year’s dawn, it seems to happen naturally for many of us. Probably just because of how society has done it for eons and we’ve been assimilated n whatnot
I’ve found myself taking stock of many things, from home n hearth ideas to health/fitness goals to making serious notes about my writing plans for the next few weeks and months. Like many fellow writers, I have lots of great ideas scribbled on sticky notes(or typed into Evernote) but rarely go back and actually take one of those ideas and run with it.
When it comes to writing plans, perhaps it’s a good time to think about where you want your writing to go next. Do you want to finish you WIP–or actually START the damn thing, moving past those scribbled post it notes (or disjointed typed fragments in Evernote)?!? Is it writing for magazines you’re after? Web content?
Hi Dana, I think keeping motivated in whatever goal you set for yourself is hard and I think you are on the right track in enlisting others to help. It’s easier to stick to an exercise plan, diet etc. if you have others on your side and cheering you on.
