Before her first guest posts go live (starting tomorrow), I thought I’d give you a little insight into who Jan is and what she does.
Jan is a freelance writer. She also does ghost writing, editing, and work for private clients. Aside from writing, Jan has also been a massage therapist for over 25 years. You can learn more about Jan at her site, Ballard Massage.
In previous years she has done software training and consultations, written and co-written over 20 computer books, worked as an actress and director (while also working as a waitress and many other jobs in order to continue acting and directing).
Jan and I are both members of the same writing forum and have seen each other around many times before. When I started looking for a copywriter for my writing site, Jan responded and after a bit of chit-chat, not only did she take on the task of writing the web content for me, but also offered to help me get caught back up here. She so “gets it” in terms of writing nonfiction, having participated in publishing over 20 nonfiction titles. It’s a real treat to have her share her wealth of knowledge to help you guys plan and organize your book-in-the-making.
Her extensive writing and publishing experience means she can offer you guys some really keen insight and advice. Her first project here at the Blue Inkwell is going to be to get my 7 Steps to Planning a Nonfiction Book wrapped up for me. Jan has graciously taken my jumbled mix of notes, half-baked ideas, and outlines, along with her own experience and publishing knowledge and formed it all into concise, informative steps to help you plan your book.
I’m so grateful for her willingness to help out and share her experience with you guys. Be sure to stop by and give her a nice warm welcome. (And stay tuned for updates as we get my new writing site Invisible Ink Studios, ready to launch. You’ll be able to read more of Jan’s work there.)
